The Apple Watch is finally coming in April

The Apple Watch is the brand's first smartwatch and a large number of Apple fanboys have been awaiting its launch. Now Apple CEO Tim Cook has shed some light on when exactly the smartwatch will start shipping. At the quarterly earnings call with the company’s investors, Cook confirmed that the wearable will start shipping in April this year.

The latest iPhones have been a major hit for the company and it is riding high on the success. The company witnessed massive growth in the world’s most populous nation, China, and went on to become the number one smartphone vendor in the country. Tim Cook further stated at the meeting that he was hopeful of the success of the smartwatch as there was an encouraging response from developers and that the company was seeing some incredible innovation with the smartwatch.

At the time of its unveiling in September last year, it was mentioned that the smartwatch will launch in early 2015. It looks like that the early 2015 timeframe has been overshot by a bit. But Cook believes that the company hasn’t missed the early 2015 timeframe as it’s within the range of what the company had in mind for the launch. There was no disclosure of pricing or any other details beyond the starting price of $349 that was mentioned back in September.

There have been rumours about the Apple Watch’s battery life being on the lower side and Apple might want to sort that out before launching it. Just to recap, the smartwatch will be available in three variants, and the coming days should see more details about the smartwatch getting disclosed.
