We’ve seen a lot of successful hatchbacks turning into sub-4 metre compact sedans in the recent past. However the trend saw a flip last year when Tata launched its Zest in the first place instead of hatch counterpart Bolt. Now following the same path, Ford introduced the compact sedan Figo Aspire last month and the hatch sibling made its way earlier this week. It gets an identical front fascia having the similar Aston Martin-esque radiator grille with four horizontal chrome-dipped slats and same set of sweptback head-lamps. The V...

If there’s one car urban India has been looking forward to in 2014, it’s the Maruti Celerio. And it’s not for its looks, or that it’s going to be another hassle-free Maruti. It’s the Automated Manual Transmission it debuts with. The Indian car industry hasn’t been too welcoming to automatics in the mass-market segment and that’s mainly got to do with the price. It’s just tough financial sense to invest hard-earned money in an automatic that’s not going to deliver on the efficiency front either. But conditions in major cities have reached a point where it’s just too much effort driving a manual gearbox in stop-go traffic. There was a desperate need to solve the price-efficiency dilemma and the popular answer emerging out of it was the AMT.Popular because manufacturers li...

Hero MotoCorp’s Karizma has come a long way since birth, gaining its fair share of loyalty among motorcycle enthusiasts along the way. The design this time round is radically changed, although the core does still remain the same. In the front, vertically stacked twin headlamps peek out, and work well to provide good visibility at night. LED pilot lights look appealing, next to a set of clear lens indicators.A tinted, generous size visor does a good job of deflecting wind away from the rider, with the number plate sitting smack in the...
